2nd December ATC Think Tank

After celebrating 25 years of MEDIA on December 1st in the BOZAR in Brussels, the ATC Working Group and representatives of two member organisations – ACE and MAIA Workshops – met for an intense day of brainstorming at ATC’s new headquarters. Guest speakers shed their light on a number of subjects. Aviva Silver, former Head of MEDIA Programme at the European Commission, shared her thoughts on policy-making for professional training, its political appeal, effective lobbying strategies and funding. Paul Pauwels, director of EDN, gave a frank insight into the challenges and demands of running a pan-European member organisation, strongly based on the crucial art of networking. Domenico La Porta, Head of Transmedia at Wallimage and director of R/O institute, addressed the trials and tribulations of truly innovative approaches.

At the end of the day ATC reached a milestone: 10 years after its initial start, the Working Group legally founded ATC as an “umbrella organisation of European audiovisual training providers to promote and represent the interests of independent organisations or training professionals, devoted to transnational training, development and research for the audiovisual and film industry.” Networking, partnerships, research and advocacy will continue to be ATC’s main focus. The members of the present Working Group will form ATC’s first board.
